Hi there, and thanks for stopping by.
I’m a recent graduate in Political Science and American Studies from a Jesuit university, where I spent four years asking big questions about power, belonging, and justice, and doing my best to live out the answers in real time. I studied abroad in Madrid and have traveled to 15 countries so far and am currently living in Mexico, learning how place, policy, and people shape one another in ways both obvious and invisible.
I grew up in Nebraska and came of age in Scouting, earning both the Girl Scout Gold Award and the rank of Eagle Scout. That experience taught me a lot about resilience, service, and showing up, especially in spaces that weren’t built for people like me.
Writing helps me sort through how I feel and what I want to promote. It's how I move from reacting to reflecting. I write about politics, religion, queerness, disability, and how we build better systems, and better relationships, through all of it. Sometimes my work is academic. Sometimes it's deeply personal. Always, I try to tell the truth.
I’ve lobbied on Capitol Hill, worked in nonprofit comms, organized mutual aid projects, and run a gender-affirming clothing closet on campus. I care about immigration, public memory, and the questions of ownership, of stories, identities, and ideas, that are becoming more urgent by the day.
I’m queer. I’m agnostic. I’m a leftist who believes in both care and critique. And I still believe that people are worth fighting for.
Next up: I’m preparing for law school, where I hope to keep pushing for justice and rethinking what access, equity, and dignity really look like, whether we're talking about borders, bodies, or intellectual space. Thanks for reading, and if any of this resonates, I hope you’ll stick around 💙
